This week’s highlights
[#antarctic] — A new NASA study has confirmed that the ocean around the Antarctic is sequestrating much more CO2 than it is releasing, thus confirming it’s vital importance to solve the climate crisis. This was confirmed using aircrafts that measured CO2 absorption.
[#fossilgas] — And we’re back to my favorite pet peeve: Gas stoves. With gas companies numerous attempts to prevent cities from phasing out gas installations by using influencers and other tactics, chefs on their own are now taking matters into their own hand. Here the focus is on TikTok chef Jon Kung have started to tout the benefits of induction stoves.
[#ev] — Will we ever be able to charge an electric car as fast as we can fill an ICE car with fuel? A new study from October indicates that probably not as a new effect has been discovered in lithium ion cells that reduces the speed at which a lithium-ion battery can charge with. So does this mean that we should stop getting EVs? No it just means that we should forget everything about this silly “go somewhere to ‘fuel’ your car” which is prevalent from the old days of fueling ICE cars. There are countless undeniable benefits of EVs and one of them certainly is never having to go to a gas station ever again so I wonder why we’re so obsessed with fast charging?
