According to the post there’s now an additional big argument, although mainly in Europe, to get off fossil fuels and that is stop funding Russia’s war. While that does seem to be true it kind of leaves the whole part about what to do about Russia’s carbon emissions in the dark..

[#energytransition] — BloombergNEF released a report on changes in source of power generation for the past 10 years. 2021 was a year with a big coal come back. Out of the total newly installed capacity in 2021 of roughly 1500TWh, 750 of these were coal. On the positive side renewables also had a good year.

[#germannuclear] — Germany is scrambling to find enough energy for the winter and one good thing about that is that they have decided to delay their otherwise planned exit from nuclear power. 2 nuclear power plants got their lives extended because of this.
